Clubs & Activities


Students meet once a week for private/group lessons and a rehearsal. Includes a Winter and Spring concert. Open to grades 4-8.


A cross-grade level grouping in which students are paired with a specific grade level to work on projects, community service, and ongoing educational activities throughout the schoolyear.


Choir is open to all interested students; no audition is required. Each choir rehearses one day a week, before school from 8:00-8:25. The choirs perform Winter and Spring Concerts each year.

History Day

History Day encourages eighth graders to explore a historical subject related to an annual theme. Students make history come alive as their research leads to imaginative exhibits, original performances, media documentaries and papers in junior and senior divisions of seven different categories.

Math and Logic Club

This before-school enrichment activity challenges students’ math skills and develops their self-confidence through problem-solving activities. Open to grades 5-8. Seventh and eighth grade members compete in the national Mathcounts program.

Middle School Musical

This annual fall performance challenges students to apply their music, acting, set-building, and dance skills to a well-known Broadway muscial. Past performances included Once On This Island and Seussical.

National Spanish Exam

A two-part national examination for 8th grade students that recognizes achievement in the study of the Spanish language. The test promotes proficiency, assesses the Standards, and stimulates further study in the teaching and learning of Spanish. Test scores are ranked against students with similar educational background.

Power of the Pen

Seventh and eighth grade students meet once a week to prepare for this interscholastic competition designed to encourage young writers. During the competitions, students are given forty minutes to write a narrative that has relevance to or includes a “prompt” that has been displayed to all the competing writers in the room.

Science Fair

This nationally-based activity offers a relevant, hands-on science experience that expands student knowledge of science and extends opportunities for students to participate in the invention process. Eighth grade students prepare individual projects and experiments that are reviewed by outside judges.

Service Learning

Sixth grade students participate in in-house service while 7th and 8th graders perform service outside of school on a once/month basis.


Student Council

Students elected to Student Council lead school-wide activities designed to promote service, leadership, civic engagement, and school spirit.

Word Master Challenge

The Word Masters Challenge is a national competition for students in grades 3-8 which encourages growth in vocabulary and verbal reasoning. This competition addresses higher-level word-comprehension and logical abilities and helps students learn to think both analytically and metaphorically.
