Lower School (K – 4)

Students in kindergarten through fourth grade engage in activities that foster respect, responsibility, creativity and sensitivity. In this environment, leadership is encouraged through mixed-age group activities. We enrich thematic studies by taking advantage of the extraordinary resources available in our community.

The goals of the K-4 program at Canton Country Day School are:

  • Promoting self-esteem and mutual respect as part of a formal character education program
  • Mentoring a well-rounded child with instruction in mathematics, reading, communication skills, science, foreign language, social studies, the fine and performing arts, and integrated technology
  • Developing 21st century skills including collaboration, teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving, creativity, communication and public speaking, and innovation

We foster these goals in a caring and supportive environment.

Above, students participated in a character education activity where they learned what it is like to “walk in someone else’s shoes.”
