Fiesta Of Fun Is A Big Hit At CCDS Summer Camp!

Canton Country Day’s lower school camp is having a good time this week with “A Fiesta of Fun”.   Mrs. Nieto is teaching students a review of the Spanish language,  Mexican music,  games, stories, and culture, while enjoying a cuisine of traditional foods.  Next weeks lower school’s camp is entitled Wild West Rodeo!  Enjoy the pictures.

Please read the following message from Coach Adams:

Greetings to all!
I hope your summer vacation has been going well so far. I am writing to you regarding a summer opportunity for our 2017 CCDS Soccer players going into 5th through 8th grade.  On Wednesday, June 21st, we will begin our Soccer open field sessions. The sessions will be from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm every Wednesday. For those of you that don’t know, open field sessions are periods of time for game play and practice, not instruction. Coaching regulations do not allow us to “coach” the kids until August 1st, but we are permitted to hold open sessions for the student athletes to play and practice. I will be at each of these sessions, along with Mr. Ater, to monitor and facilitate use of the fields and equipment. Our open field sessions are certainly not mandatory, but spending some time playing with teammates and having some fun will be very beneficial to our upcoming season. I would strongly encourage their participation if they are available.
As a reminder, 5th graders will practice but not play or travel with the team. They are still encouraged to attend these sessions to help prepare for the following year when they are able to play.
I have created a new remind group (link below) for the Summer Open Field sessions which I suggest you sign up for. I will put out any last minute changes or cancellations to the session via the app.
You must sign the attached waiver and bring it with you the first time your child joins us.
I am very excited about the upcoming 2017 season and I look forward to seeing many of you at the field next Wednesday.
All the best!

CCDS’ Class of 2017 Car Wash Is A Success!

Today we had another successful 8th grade car wash and bake sale and we owe it all to your generous donations and participation. Without your support, the class would have a difficult time making enough money for a class gift. As it was, the class made $1,162.71!!!! This is more than enough to cover the two gifts which they plan to leave for the school and which you will see at Graduation.  Madame and the 8th grade class!

Each year the 8th Grade class gives the school a parting gift!  In order to raise funds for the class gift the students have a car wash and bake sale!  Please come out and support our students for this worthwhile cause!  From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. you can get your car washed by our eighth graders (in the CCDS faculty parking lot) and/or take home some wonderful baked goods!
