CCDS was founded in 1964 as part of the Country Day School movement, with the aim of combining innovation with a superior elementary education. Thank you for taking the time to explore Canton Country Day School. We take pride in the fact that we have been in existence for over 60 years and continue to hold rich traditions and produce exceptional students.
I’ve been a part of the school for 18 years and I still look forward to walking into the building each day. The amazing students and staff, and character of the establishment, create a feeling of warmth and familiarity. Our exceptional arts programs are one feature that sets us apart from other schools. Be it music, visual arts, drama, or performance, our students love to share what they have learned. A strong academic core is reinforced through extracurricular programs and low teacher-to-student ratios. Public speaking is often on display at all grade levels through class or whole school presentations. Our families are very involved,and we appreciate their investment in learning because we function as a community working together. The exclamation point of our school is the beautiful 40 acre campus featuring outdoor classrooms, work areas, trails, and extensive wildlife. We are a designated Wild School Site and Tree Campus, two honors that both reinforce our connection with nature and the Country Day philosophy.
It is not uncommon for a CCDS alum to stop by. The memories of friendships and bonds our students share with their teachers and peers continue long after they graduate from 8th grade. The community activism of the school also frequently carries over into the careers of our students once they get older. Foundationally, they have the skills to influence locally or wherever they travel. Our former students reside across the US and internationally.
