Parent Tour
Canton Country Day School encourages prospective families and their children to schedule a campus visit, tour our facilities, observe students in their daily learning environment, talk with faculty members, and share your educational goals with our Admission Director. Please allow at least 1 hour for this first visit. After your visit, we will arrange the appropriate next step(s) in the admission process. Call the Office at (330) 453-8279 ext. 131 to schedule a tour.
Application
An application for admissions must be completed as a part of the admissions process. Also, you will be asked to complete a transcript request form that will allow CCDS to review all past and current records. There is a $52 application fee.
* The transcript request form is a part of the application. An application will not be considered complete until all records are received and reviewed.
Student Visitation & Assessment
At Canton Country Day, student visits and assessments help us get to know each child while allowing families to experience our learning environment. Preschool and Junior Kindergarten applicants spend time in our early childhood classrooms, where children must be at least three years old and fully toilet trained, with visits typically scheduled over two consecutive mornings. Kindergarten applicants participate in assessments that include both social and academic activities, with individual sessions available for late applicants; students must be five years old by August 1 of the school year. Applicants for grades 1–8 spend two full days on campus engaging in classes and activities while teachers observe academic and social development through participation and selected assessment tools.
Acceptance to CCDS
All student applications and assessment materials are presented to the school’s admission committee for review and acceptance. A formal letter of decision is then mailed to the student’s parents. It is our policy to move promptly through the admission process. The time necessary to complete the process will vary according to length of time it takes to complete the applicable visit and gather all required information.
